Flash News- We Started cooking

April 22, 2006 is a significant day for the occcupants of B-407 Spring Blossom. Jagathala and deepak getting the cylinder to facilitate cooking @ home.
Veteran Sathish Kumar, the Head, takes up the challenge with a cool attitude by preparing a nice Tur Dal ki Khichdi supplemented by the Tamatar Chutney, the Andhra way (hot and spicy), by Andhra's very own son, Chandra!!

Also, the dinner was supplemented by immersion fried appalam. Altogether, 6 people had a nice dinner on saturday night. 'Thala' Sathish Kumar had posed a great challenge for the other cook by his wonderful Khichdi!!!

The next day (Sunday) started off with Maggi noodles for everyone. Sathish and Jagathala ate maggi without any vegetable additve in it whereas deepak, chandra and subbu had it with all the vegetables.

Now, It was the lunch time and people were getting hungry. It was subbu's cooking today. Under tremendous pressure posed by the insurgents, subbu was nervous enough to screw up with the Tuur Dal :-). Thanks to sathish again, the tuur dal was cured. With the combined team effort, potato and carrot were cut. And subbu began with sambhar, it was a potato and carrot sambhar with onion as the ingredient. The sambhar powder was from the home still a lot was dependent on his hand.

Sambhar was successfully finished but few were ready to take the first taste. Then carrot curry was made. The cooking lasted for 2 hours and it was already 2.45. Sathish kumar ordered a halt and serve order. Hence no appalam. Then started our eating part. And to everyone's surprise, the food was good. In no time it was over but everyone had their stomach filled. For all the internet publishing and the 'rowsu' that subbu had done before, it was mandatory that the food was good. He passed out with distinction in this case.

The evening was marked by a nice onion pakoda/bhajji by the Great Sathish Kumar. Kudos to the Team work that made the mammoth task look so simple.

During the tenure of the weekend, there emerged one Center Of Excellence (CoE). That was Deepak (Cheers!!) for the 'Purifying Utensils' Job. He even plans to buy apron for this specialised job of his.
